THE SCOTCH ARCHIVES AND

Official opening scheduled for March 2021
Work commenced on renovating and extending the Scotch Archives and Museum on 1 July 2019 . Previously housed in 2 and 3 Morrison Street , the latter building has been transformed into OSCA House as part of the Tolson Centre project .
The existing compactus area at the rear of 2 Morrison Street has been extended westward , with a new compactus area across the back of OSCA House , followed by a new home for the Ramsay Collection behind 4 Morrison Street . A small storeroom at the end of this houses additional Ramsay Collection material , and bulky museum items .
All display and archival storage areas are protected by climate control and a gas ( non-water ) fire suppression system . A museum has been created by filling in the driveway between 2 and 3 Morrison Street .
The Archives ’ office moved back into the renovated building on 1 June 2020 , but complications including COVID-19 restrictions
