2000s

LYNDON GREEN (’ 11 ) graduated Bachelor of Music from Melbourne University with Honours in Music Performance , majoring in Classical Voice . At university he was a member of the Trinity
College ( Melbourne ) Choir . Lyndon aspired to a career in opera , and this year he was cast as an Opera Australia chorus member in one of Verdi ’ s lesser-known operas , Attila , and also in Wagner ’ s Lohengrin – but , alas , the 2020 opera program became a victim of the COVID-19 pandemic .
With the future as an opera singer in doubt , Lyndon ’ s career path has taken an unexpected turn : he is applying to join the Royal Australian Navy as a Cryptologic Linguist . Languages have been one of Lyndon ’ s strong suits , and his role in the RAN would be in naval intelligence . He is currently working his way through the enlistment procedures . During lockdowns this year Lyndon worked on his fitness at home with weight training and calisthenics . ‘ It has helped to preserve my sanity during the lockdowns ,’ he told Great Scot .
After gaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Melbourne and taking a gap year to travel , JEFFREY ZHAO (’ 14 ) is now working full time in consulting at Deloitte Digital . Realising that Asian representation in mainstream media was very low , Jeff , together with his friend Isabella , launched the ‘ As I Am ’ podcast (@ asiam . podcast ), aiming , as he says , ‘ to understand the Asian identity in the West ’.
Since its launch in April , the brand has experienced strong and steady growth , most recently with a total rebranding and the addition of several team members . Jeff hopes to expand the brand into several other mediums , while maintaining his primary aim of telling unheard stories and improving diversity and representation across all facets of society .
