MAGICAL EFFORT WITH NO MAGIC POTION FROM THE FRENCH CLASS
How would Astérix and Obélix have coped with COVID-19 ?
Unlike Astérix and Obélix , the French class of 2020 did not have a magic potion , but they definitely showed Gaulish spirit in producing some fine work , despite the level of adversity they faced this year .
Being exposed to complex issues such as immigration , integration , freedom of speech and what it means to live between two cultures and being able to discuss these issues extensively in a nuanced manner , is already challenging in a normal classroom environment let alone in a remote learning setting .
It has been a pleasure and a lot of fun to teach this cohort . We congratulate our students for their passion , determination and sheer hard work , and wish them all the best for their future endeavours . Long live French culture and enlightenment ! MME HAMZA and MME ORGEOLET
