THE SCOTCH SHOP OPENS FOR BUSINESS : OF SORTS

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR ASPECTS OF THE SCOTCH SHOP
Response to the new Scotch Shop has been extremely positive
The commencement of Term 2 heralded the opening of the new Scotch Shop . But opening celebrations were somewhat restrained due to the COVID-19 pandemic , as the shop was only accessible via online appointments so appropriate social distancing protocols could be enforced .
Despite the restrictions , the response from those who visited the shop has been extremely positive . The Scotch Shop forms part of the realisation of the School ’ s vision to create a community hub on the School campus . Scotch has undertaken a major refurbishment of Nos 2 , 3 and 4 Morrison Street to create the Tolson Centre , bringing together the Scotch College Archives and Museum , OSCA House and the new Scotch Shop . ( More about the Tolson Centre appears elsewhere in this section of Great Scot .)
The Scotch Shop will provide the School community with a full-service school uniform retail experience on campus , supported by a state-of-the-art online platform . During standard operating times the Scotch Shop will be open six days a week , catering for all our day boys , boarders and staff .
Scotch is pleased to announce that Noone Imagewear is the operating partner of the Scotch Shop . Noone Imagewear sets the benchmark for personalised customer service and quality in the school uniform industry , and shares our vision , offering a unique on-campus or online customer service experience to our community . By purchasing items from the Scotch Shop customers are supporting the School and the Scotch College Indigenous Scholarship Fund .
The Scotch Shop will offer a full retail service to our community , including :

NEW SPORTS UNIFORMS : NEW COLOURS AND DESIGN The new sports uniform was due to launch this winter season . While many boys have been wearing the new colours and designs at training , its official launch with external fixtures will unfortunately need to wait until either the spring or summer season .
The School community is very excited about the new appearance , and has used the opportunity to look at best practice , to ensure our boys are wearing uniforms that will allow them to showcase their skills best on the field , court , river , pitch or oval . Our boys love what they have seen , and the new shop has been overwhelmed with interest .
With the previous sports uniform designs dating back to 2002 , the School has undertaken a significant change . It has been a five-year project that has looked at providing a better outcome for boys , parents and the School .
We have endeavoured to provide a professional and contemporary appearance that balances aspects of our School tradition with innovation . The colours have changed to reflect a stronger link with our past . We have come up with a consistent look with each of the uniform items , with red being the dominant colour and with bands of gold and blue .
All teams will wear the College crest on their uniform , with the exception of Firsts APS teams , which will wear the burning bush as a testament to eras before them .
The streamlining of designs also allows the garments to be used across a range of sports , giving a consistent look for the School and also the benefit of reducing costs for families .
While 2020 has provided its challenges , our boys are extremely excited about stepping out to represent the School in the new colours and design . Fred Leeton ( Year 10 ) said : ‘ I really like the new competition singlet . I have been wearing it everywhere !’
School Captain , Will Dixon , said : ‘ The introduction of the new sports uniform has been a welcome and exciting addition for the boys . It means all of our teams look the part , in gear specifically designed to suit the sport they play .’
Let ’ s hope we soon see the boys wearing the new uniforms .
