SUCCEEDING BY ACTING ON OUR VALUES

Taking responsibility has been the key to Scotch ’ s success
Scotch has remained purposeful and provided leadership in many of the nation ’ s crises : in economic depressions , wars and pandemics . Its capacity to do this has been the result of the strong community that has come into existence within and around the School , and the values of that community . In the most difficult of times , the College has provided hope , direction and a quality of education that is the surest foundation of a better future .

Each generation interprets these commitments in the circumstances of its time . During the pandemic the Chaplains have told how crises can teach us lessons about ourselves – who we are , and how important it is to think beyond ourselves , and to show our love for others .

Keeping true to these values will ensure that the country we love will return to its full vitality and glorious openness .

The wind at the moment is blowing a gale , but the ship still makes progress . Immense opportunities will be provided as the world opens up again – as it will .
In this pandemic the torch of learning has not gone out , but has been kept alight by our dedicated teachers , and by Scotch families who deeply value education and are making sacrifices for their sons to secure their futures . Our dedicated technical staff have kept the online systems operating to keep the relationships between staff and boys strong , while our wonderful Grounds and Maintenance staff have been providing
