CLIMATE
Thailand has a warm and humid tropical climate . For those planning a beach wedding , Thailand ’ s two coastal regions have different rainy seasons , allowing you to find sunny beaches virtually all year round . For the Andaman or west coast , home to Phuket , Krabi , and the Phi Phi Islands , the rainy season is roughly April to October . While over in the Gulf of Thailand , and east-coast regions such as Koh Samui and Koh Phangan , the most rain falls between September and December . But don ’ t let the ‘ rainy season ’ put you off — it often means a late afternoon shower . Inland provinces are mainly dry between November and May and rainy between May and November while in northern regions such as Chiang Mai , the rainy season runs from May to September .
CURRENCY
The Thai baht ( THB ) is the official currency of Thailand with ATMs available in most tourist areas . Credit cards are used widely , especially in hotels and resorts , but you ’ ll still need cash for some more remote areas .
