1929 The Beginning of the Great Depression

August 1929 the stock market reached its peak. September and early October stock prices declined. October 24th, known as black friday, panic set in and 12,894,650 shares were traded. Black monday followed by black tuesday the stock market collapsed and 16,410,030 shares were traded in a single day. On the New York stock Exchange Stock tickers were far behind due to the large amount of trading.
