oriented gym . We allow people to bring their children , they have to be at least age 14 , but we do have dance classes for a younger group at different times during the week . We have members in ages from 14 to 86 .”
For the most part , The Gravette Gym is self-service . When members sign up they get a key fob that allows access 24 / 7 . Evening staffing extends to 8 p . m ., but camera security is always on . The couple can see comings and goings at the gym all day and night in real time , and they can see who ’ s in the facility based on the use of gym member ’ s key fobs .
“ We never have issues ,” said Les . “ Everyone is very respectful of our rules and what we ’ re trying to do here . We have a really great group of community members .”
In addition to sponsorship of the Gravette Day 5K , The Gravette Gym offers a variety of extra activities throughout the year that wouldn ’ t necessarily be associated with a health facility . That list includes an Easter egg hunt for members ’ children , a member

appreciation pool party at the town pool , sponsorship of Parent Teacher Organization activities in the schools . Last year , the gym hosted a nonhaunted house in the building that houses the batting cages as an alternative to the scarier options that pop up around Halloween . And there are always event T-shirts and oneoff events where the gym takes part .
The Gravette High School baseball team uses the batting cages during bad weather , and the track and football teams have used the facility , as well .
“ We have young boys , so a lot of what we do centers around their needs ,” said Natanya . “ If our family needs it or would enjoy it , other families might feel the same . What we do is for our kids and for our friends and family . The way I see it , they ’ re all our kids , they ’ re all our family .”
