For the fifth year in a row , Gravette Day will get off to a running start with the 5K . Runners , walkers , strollers and even furry friends ( leashed and well-behaved ones ) are all welcome to join in the fun . The event starts at 8 a . m .
It ’ s not too late to sign up for this year ’ s run . Participants can register as late as the morning of the event , and the first 75 registered runners will receive an official Gravette Day 5K shirt courtesy of the event ’ s sponsor , The Gravette Gym . The event isn ’ t just fun , it

also raises money for a good cause . Proceeds from this year ’ s event will benefit the Gravette Police Department and Bright Futures .
The Gravette Day 5K continues to grow in popularity each year .
“ It has grown to around 150 runners ,” said Natanya Riddle , c0-owner of The Gravette Gym with her husband Les . “ We hope for even more this year .”
Participants can choose to run , walk , trot or stroll the mostly flat course , which starts at the top of Old Town Park and travels east from the park toward the high school and

Highway 72 , where runners will turn around and head toward historic Main Street . After passing Main Street businesses , runners will loop back toward the top of Old Town Park to the finish line . There will be a kiosk for participants to print their times at the conclusion of the event .
There will be prizes and medals for the overall top finishers , as well as many award categories , in an event that Natanya called “ an event for all .” “ We have grade schoolage runners , high school cross country runners , adults pushing babies in strollers , adult athletes , walkers of all ages , runners in the 60-plus category , and more ,” she noted . in each of the following categories will be recognized : ages 13 and under , ages 14-18 , ages 19-59 , and ages 60-plus .
There will be music , fruit and water at the start and finish lines and water along the route , plus a photo op . Volunteers will man the first aid tent , and high school sports teams will help hand out water in this true community event .
