For the past eight years , DaMayla Cowan has made the Miss Gravette / Miss Teen Gravette Pageant into a positive , uplifting experience for everyone associated with the pageant . And now , Kaitlyn Dover , Miss Gravette 2021 , has stepped up to fill the shoes as the new director .
“ I have always admired DaMayla and the way she ran this organization ,” Dover said . Dover is no stranger to Gravette and the Miss Gravette Pageant .
“ I am a Gravette native and have always loved my small community ,” she said . “ I am beyond grateful that DaMayla has trusted me enough to take over her baby that she has built for the last eight years . I have been involved in the pageant community for a little over five years now , and it has shaped me into the person I am today .”
Looking back over the last 12 months at her first year as
co-director , Dover speaks very highly of the first two pageant winners she had the pleasure of working with .
“ I am beyond grateful that Shealee and Perri were my first group of girls to be able to spend the year with ,” she said . “ I love being able to see the growth in my girls in just a year . I am so excited to continue on with the Miss / Teen Gravette organization .”
The pageant winners are held to high standards with a concentration on the four areas that have modeled the pageant ’ s organization : celebrate , serve , inspire and scholarship . Two outstanding women from Gravette who captured the 2023 titles for Miss Gravette and Miss Teen Gravette truly represent those four qualities . We checked in with them to see what it was like to wear the crown this past year .

Shealee Jensen Tell us a little about yourself . I am a jack of all trades . I have so many hobbies it ’ s hard to keep track of them all . I love to golf , hike , eat Mexican food , snowboard , do pageants , volunteer , especially with the Gravette public library , do photography and modeling . My senior year I was in six clubs and two sports . I became a Hog
