STAGE 7 MARKS THE FINAL chapter of the inaugural Nedbank Gravel Burn as the route makes its final transition from the arid interior of the Karoo to the big game territory of Shamwari Private Game Reserve. With more elevation lost than gained, today may look forgiving on paper but it’ s far from a procession. The 99 % unpaved surface, a series of sharp climbs and a long, fast descent into the finish mean this final day still holds tactical weight and the chance for one last shake-up.
