H URE g, South Africa tes fr.) Cultivars: Cristobal, Cocksfoot is a cool-weather pasture crop and mainly cultivated under irrigation. Not only is it a very persistent perennial grass, but it is the most drought-tolerant crop amongst the temperate perennial species. Although its production is lower than that of perennial ryegrass and tall fescue, its palatability and nutritional value hardly decreases with maturity. It is a versatile crop that can be used as pasture, hay, silage or foggage and grows especially well with perennial clovers.
