T
he landscape is said to be a heaven
for nature photographers and is
capable of providing you with some
of the most beautiful landscapes of
all time.
The period from June to August is ideal for
travelling to Iceland as it receives sunlight
throughout the day. The Iceland is also
known as the ‘Land of Midnight Sun’. In
winters, the sun rises at 11 am and sets at 3
pm giving you hardly an hour of real
brightness while in summer sun hardly sets.
Iceland houses active volcanoes, thermal
springs, sprouting geysers and experiences
frequent earthquakes. It would not be wrong
if we say that it is a young land which
receives frequent reshaping by Earth’s
subterranean forces. Above ground, the land
is frequently altered by shifting ice of
Europe’s largest glacier, thunderous
waterfalls and climate that is impossible to
forecast.
The country has very less population and
rarely affects the world economics but the
nation grabs world’s attention when an
eruption occurs in any of its 30 active
volcanoes. The seismic landscape, however,
is what draws tourists from all around the
world to Iceland. The torrential waterfalls,
inland glaciers, sea cliffs, and iceberg-
strewn beaches you are never short of
natural wonders to explore when in Iceland.
The best way to see everything is by
booking the week-long complete Iceland
packages. Nearly all such trials start from
Reykjavik most of which include keen
photographers who travel in groups for
photo walks and capture some of the most
splendid naturals shot of all time. As
mentioned earlier, the landmarks are
popular between May and September as it
is the time when visitors can get the fullest
of the landscape by taking advantage of long
summer days and warmer temperature.
Major highlights include, Gullfoss &
Seljalandsfoss, Skogafoss, black sand beach
of Reynifjara, glacier lagoon of Jokulsarlon,
Dyrholaey, a coastal rock arch reminiscent
of Dorest’s Durdle Door and the Geysir which
is the original sprouting hot spring after
which all the geysers of the world are named.
Generally, the Iceland tours start from
Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland. While
there is no limit as to how Iceland can be
explored, we have come up few things that
are a must do when in Iceland.
