An enhanced wide-format textile printer

Mimaki ’ s Tiger-1800B MkII wide-format inkjet textile printer offers a higher print resolution and improved quality . It ’ s available in DTG and dye-sub models . The maximum speed is 4,144 sq . ft . per hour for both models , with an additional 1,200 dpi print mode option . A set of Mimaki ’ s unique core technologies has also been added . The Mimaki Advance Pass System ( MAPS ) uses an advanced algorithm to reduce visible banding and uneven colour printing , with blurred boundaries similar to gradation printing . Mimaki ’ s proven Nozzle Check Unit ( NCU ) and Nozzle Recovery System ( NRS ) are also included . The NCU monitors nozzle outages and immediately activates a series of recovery functions , while the NRS automatically assigns operational nozzles when an outage is detected . These functions enable continuous printing even if nozzle errors occur . Other options include a feeding unit equipped with a centering device and tension bar for roll media , a jumbo roll unit to enable printing of longlength roll fabric or heat transfer papers , and drying and winding or

A sheetfed series with a fifth colour option

The Ricoh Pro C7200 series , featuring its Graphic Arts Edition and fifth colour-station models , utilizes inline sensors and calibration for improved front-to-back registration . The fifth colour station ( C7210X and C7210SX ) can produce high-value , 5-colour applications “ faster and more accurately while offering greater media flexibility .” New invisible red toner introduces even more ways to innovate by producing designs visible only under ultraviolet light . “ When the Ricoh Pro C7100X series hit the market , it immediately changed the sheetfed colour landscape ,” said John Fulena , vice president of the commercial and industrial printing business group , Ricoh USA . “ It brought 5-colour printing , synthetic and textured media and outstanding quality to ‘ main street ’ printers .” The series can handle sheets up to 49.6 " for those wishing to add largerformat colour printing to their portfolio , offers higher print speeds , 2400 x 4800 dpi resolution and a large colour gamut . The 85 ppm and 95 ppm models include auto-duplexing . The platform can also print white and CMYK inks in a single pass .

A 1,200 dpi high-speed printbar system

Fujifilm NA has released the first product in its Samba Printbar System line , the Samba PS4300 for commercial and packaging printing . The compact imprinting system can be easily integrated into most existing print equipment , adding variable inkjet imprinting capabilities “ with unsurpassed print quality at revolutionary speeds .” The system adds an inline digital printing option for a wide range of personalized or data-printing applications – including text , logos , QR , barcodes and

graphics . It integrates Samba Printhead technology with “ fitfor-purpose ” inks developed by Fujifilm . The PS4300 has a print width of 1.6 " with each printhead depositing billions of drops per second , 1,200 dpi resolution and speeds up to 1,000 fpm . The system is available with up to four printbars , and each printbar can be easily integrated into an existing offset press or manufacturing line and operated from a single controller . Fujifilm ’ s patented redijet ink recirculation system ensures that all printbars are instantly primed – resulting in faster time to print and minimal material waste .

OEM adds 8-colour perfector to its sheetfed line

Komori America ’ s 8-colour Lithrone G37P perfector , capable of one-pass , double-sided printing , has been added to its line of 37 " sheetfed presses . The more compact G37P can be equipped with a wide range of options , including Komori ’ s proprietary H-UV or H-UV L ( LED ) curing systems . An optional PQA-S print quality assessment system can be added to inspect every sheet for defects , and continuously adjust ink keys to maintain consistent colour at maximum speed . The PQA-S works in conjunction with the PDC-SX spectral print density control by combining automatic register functions with detailed analysis of print characteristics such as grey balance , dot gains and Delta E . Capable of significant labour savings , its perfecting mechanism doesn ’ t require any gripper change as the sheet is flipped . Instead , the entire gripper mechanism rotates after taking the tail of the sheet from the vacuum cylinder . This adds stability , reliability and reduces maintenance . The press can also reduce initial set-up and production costs on plates , blankets and rollers .
