New products DTG Printing that reduces ink consumption Kornit Digital has intro- duced a new high definition (HD) printing technology into its Ava- lanche direct-to-garment printing systems. The Ava- lanche HD6, the successor of the Avalanche Hexa, is Kornit Avalanche HD6 equipped with Kornit’s HD print engine and NeoPigment rapid ink. This results in signifi- cant reductions in ink consumption and therefore cost per print. The HD6 can reduce ink consumption by up to 30% compared to Kornit’s current R-Series, and up to 46% compared to the previous non-R-Series versions of the Avalanche Hexa. The HD6 includes six colour channels (CMYK, red, green) plus white, for a wider gamut and improved spot-colour matching. Users can reproduce true colours of licensed sports teams and accur- ately match corporate logos with fiery reds, warm yellows, deep blues and greens, vivid purples and more. Designed for the mass production of garments, the printer also includes dual bridge and dual pallet architecture ideal for an industrial pro- duction environment and for heavy-duty use. Engineering–grade 3D-printed parts in less time HP’s expanded 3D-printing portfolio now includes the new Jet Fusion 300/500 Series of 3D printers, “the industry’s first 3D printing technology that enables manufacturers to produce engineering-grade, functional parts in full colour, black or white, with voxel control in a fraction of the time of other solutions,” said the OEM. Depending on the configuration and colour preference, the Jet Fusion series complements HP's existing industrial-grade Jet Fusion 3200/4200/4210 3D solutions that deliver “the lowest cost per part” and are designed for manu- facturing environments. HP’s unique ability to control part properties at the individual voxel level enables the design and production of “previously unconceivable parts and is now available, for the first time, in full colour.” The new series also features a compact design, enhanced workflow, and the world’s first integrated and automated materials delivery system enabling “greater unattended operation, ease of use and dra- matically increasing production efficiency and output.” The series also supports the three leading colour file formats – OBJ, VRML and 3MF – enabling designers to produce the parts they require without file conversion or data corruption. New wide-format printer that's 70% more productive Durst's new printing platform, the P5 series, will launch next month with its flagship P5 250 HS for high-volume industrial production and offset-quality one-offs. The term P5 relates to five core features at the heart of this technology: productiv- ity, reliability, workflow, versatility and print quality. The technology also uses new, in-house-developed software and workflow solutions, touch operation user interfaces and remote service capabilities. Everything is streamlined to maxi- mize performance, uptime and flexibility in media and job handling. When compared to the Durst P10 250 HS, the new P5 is 70% more productive, said the OEM. Featuring MEMS nozzle plates powered by Durst proprietary data-path and electronics, the result is "a high-speed printing system with ultra-precise drop placement and industrial-level reliability". Output in two-pass mode is up to 240 m 2 /hr and high-res mode of 1,200 dpi is possible. Other fea- tures include offset printing quality with a drop-size of 5 pL, Durst Analytics infor- mation for pre-emptive mainten- ance and detailed Durst P5 Series machine and con- sumption data, and Durst Workflow that provides a suite of applications custom tailored for Durst printers, with "unique features beyond ripping". Seven types of folds at up to 12,000 sheets per hour M ar t in Yale’s new 1811 paper folder requires no pre-fanning of paper and provides a fast, convenient way to automatically Martin Yale 1811 Paper Folder perform seven types of folds quickly and easily at up to 12,000 sph. The fold range is adjust- able on both the first and the second folds. Large rubber rollers provide consistent paper feeding, while durable con- veyor belts create easy-to-handle, fanned stacks. The 1811 also folds stapled sets of papers up to five sheets through its manual bypass feature. Compact, sturdy and durable, the 1811 is built to fold thousands of papers a week, said the OEM.
