A real partnership never ends with
just equipment installations
How Insource partnered with Canpak to help them
become a major player in short-run packaging
What makes a strong and lasting vendor/
client partnership? Spelled out on its
showroom wall in Markham, Ontario are
Insource’s core values: Knowledge,
Commitment and Respect. Well, you can
add Intuitive, Innovative and Invested to
those three. Intuitive – meaning that its
solution specialists draw upon years of
hands-on experience to suggest not
only the best equipment options, but
also in-shop process changes that
improve efficiency and profitability.
Innovative – meaning that Insource has
literally travelled the world to bring the
best technology to its customers here
in Canada. It’s familiar with every detail
of the equipment it sells and what that
equipment is capable of. Invested –
meaning that Insource always takes
whatever time is needed to look after
its clients, because a genuine and lasting
partnership should never end with an
equipment investment.
A unique partnership
As a technology and service provider in
the industrial paper handling, card hand-
ling, packaging/fulfillment and mailing
segments, partnerships with Insource’s
clients are highly valued – and extremely
important. Witness Insource’s special
relationship with Canpak Trade Print &
Services of Richmond Hill, Ontario.
“After visiting Canpak, I was blown
away,” said Kareem Sesook, Director of
Sales and Marketing for Insource. “This
trade printer is without a doubt one of
our industry’s best-kept secrets – a true
‘hidden gem’ in the Greater Toronto
Area. Few people know that it’s been
serving print brokers and other clients
successfully for over 20 years. In addi-
tion to their huge breadth of services, I
was so impressed by their team’s work
ethic, co-operation and professionalism.

This was indeed
a valued rela-
tionship that I
wanted to foster.
From that very
first day when
Alan met with
Eric, our partner-
ship has been
unique – built on

Today, Canpak is still a GTA leader in
trade printing, but is continuing to move
boldly and swiftly into more innovative
and profitable packaging solutions.
“This transformation from a top trade
printer to a top packaging trade printer
is somewhat unique in our industry,”
Sesook added. “We’re absolutely
delighted to be part of it, and we’ll con-
tinue to foster this valued collaboration
with Eric and his staff.”

Canpak:
From trade printer to trade
packaging printer with two key
installations
Insource first reached out to Canpak
President Eric Fok last year when Alan
Ferguson, Insource Solutions Specialist,
told him about the company’s vast array
of equipment and services. Today, this
initial interaction has blossomed into
a trusted partnership that’s resulted in
two “game - changing” equipment
installations that have taken Canpak to
an entirely new level of sophistication.
The first in 2018 was a Chameleon MXX
Folder/Gluer, and more recently a
Therm-O-Type NSF Excel MK II Foil
Press/Die Cutter. Insource was able to
listen and provide technology that com-
plemented Canpak’s existing equipment
to increase efficiency, while maintaining
a small footprint. The combined instal-
lations took the company to the next
level in expanding its state-of-the-art
packaging print solutions – with an
emphasis on the growing and lucrative
short-run market.

“Insource has given us great support
and is very knowledgeable,” Fok added.
“They provided training on the equipment
and they’re a local company that can
send service technicians promptly when
requested.” Ferguson also describes
the partnership as warm and trusting:
“I always feel welcomed when I go to
Canpak, and I enjoy working with them.”
