News Horizon Bookletmaker added to HP Indigo 7000 line The addition of a Horizon Bookletmaker inline to HP Indigo 7000 Series Presses is part of an ongoing strategy to “expand the inline automation portfolio and offer the widest and most complete range of automated finishing solutions for Indigo customers,” the OEMs added. The Horizon Bookletmaker SPF-200HP made its North American debut inline with the HP Indigo 7800 at Print 17. The new bookletmaker is based on the popular Horizon SPF-200 series technology platform, designed to produce consistently high quality and precise output. Fast and easy operator training is possible due to user-friendly touchscreen operation and advanced auto- mation. Its integrated LED-UV technology – branded ECO-UV – is energy efficient, generates very little heat and produces no ozone. He’ll be responsible for HP Indigo’s full product lines for commercial print, labels and packaging across the country. McCarthy was with Kon- ica Minolta Canada for 18 years and was Director of Industrial Print for the past three. He previously held sev- eral senior sales positions with Paul McCarthy Konica Minolta Canada – including General Sales Manager, National Production Manager and Director of Production Print. McCarthy started his career in the industry in 1996 with Pitney Bowes in Atlantic Canada. Originally from Newfoundland, he’s been active in the printing industry in Toronto since 2003, and is currently chair of the Member Services Committee of the Digital Imaging Associa- tion (DIA) as well as being a past president. graphicartsmag.com
