Nurseries Praised
Staff have been praised for their efforts in two recent inspections of nurseries by the Care Inspectorate .
Menstrie PS Nursery Class received Excellent ratings from the inspectors , who highlighted the inspirational management team who placed all children at the heart of everything they do . The nursery was also praised for the flexible and child centred transition programme which is completely in tune with children ’ s distinct personalities , physical and learning needs .
The inspection at ABC Nursery gave Very Good ratings , and focused on the motivated and enthusiastic staff . They found that the level of nurturing care throughout the nursery was very good and achieved through good staffing levels and high expectations of the staff group by the management team . Parents described the nursery as having a caring and supportive environment .
Hazel has joined the Council from her previous post as CEO of Impact Family Services in South Shields , a charity which runs a range of projects dealing with the complexities of couple relationships and family breakdown . During her career , Hazel has worked in a number of areas , including children ’ s services , youth offending and she was previously a probation officer .
Developing the family intervention services that the Family Centre offers is a key part of Hazel ’ s remit . Her team will be focussing on working with vulnerable families to help them meet some of the challenges they face , and that includes visiting them at home to provide regular and sometimes intensive support .
To take on her new role , Hazel has moved from the North East of England , giving up her Newcastle United season ticket in the process ! She is however enjoying getting to know the beautiful countryside of Clackmannanshire , and enjoying family time with her two grown up sons and her granddaughter . Hazel also enjoys attending live music events in her remaining free time .
