Center for Grants Innovation and Compliance( cont.) Looking ahead, the Center seeks to elevate Arlington’ s grant capacity to new levels of performance and sustainability. We aim to cultivate a citywide culture of innovation and preparedness, where departments are equipped with the tools, data, and expertise to successfully compete for funding opportunities. Through proactive planning, regional collaboration, and strategic alignment with emerging funding priorities, the Center will continue to open doors to large-scale investments, long-term program growth, and visionary projects that keep Arlington on the forefront of municipal excellence.
2025 GRANT SUCCESSES In its first year of operation, the Center for Grants Innovation and Compliance has delivered over $ 1.5 million in competitive grant funding, marking an impressive launch for this new citywide initiative.
These early victories demonstrate Arlington’ s growing strength as a grant competitor, securing external dollars that expand critical services, invest in community infrastructure, and improve quality of life— all while easing the burden on local taxpayers.
Highlights Include: $ 700,000 – TEXAS VETERANS COMMISSION
$ 350,000 – Housing for Texas Heroes Program: Funds dedicated to essential home repairs and weatherization improvements for low-income veterans and their surviving spouses, ensuring safe, stable housing for those who served.
$ 350,000 – Homeless Veterans Support Services: Investment in outreach, case management, and tailored resources to connect veterans, dependents, and surviving spouses experiencing or at risk of homelessness with life-changing assistance and stable housing solutions.
$ 375,000 – TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION( Work Zone Data Exchange Project)
This innovative project will launch a state-of-the-art Work Zone Data Exchange( WZDx) platform, providing real-time updates on active work zones. The technology will increase driver safety, reduce collisions in construction areas, and ease traffic congestion by improving navigation and route planning— creating safer, more efficient roadways for residents and visitors alike.
$ 239,700 – TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT( Recreational Trails Grant)
Funding will support realignment and safety enhancements along the scenic trail system at River Legacy Park, one of Arlington’ s premier outdoor destinations. These improvements will protect public access, improve visitor safety, and preserve the park’ s natural beauty for generations to come.
With additional high-value proposals pending review, this early momentum signals that Arlington is ready to compete— and win— on a larger scale, building a foundation for transformative projects and sustained grant success in the years ahead.
