Food insecurity continues to be a major issue for our country, state and local communities. With stagnant wages, the rise of inflation, especially the increase cost of groceries, many families are struggling to make ends meet. Arlington Charities has strived for 40 years to assist these families by providing supplemental groceries. These groceries go beyond simply canned goods to include meat, dairy and fresh produce, and clients can choose what they want with our online ordering system. Families can come once a month to our drive thru market and receive nearly two weeks’ worth of meals. We also have a mobile market truck that we send out into the community as well as a home delivery service. Using CDBG funding. Arlington Charities were able to cover new and annually renewing clients, which was close to 7,000 people.
“ We heard from many families through quarterly surveys that our programs have made a real tangible impact in their lives. Over 90 % were satisfied with what they received and with staff interaction.”
