DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Depart today on your flight to Lisbon, Portugal.
DAY 2 • Arrive Lisbon, Portugal Upon arrival in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, you’ ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Meet your fellow travelers, including those concluding their Portugal: Cascais & Tomar pre-trip extension. Later, your Program Director will lead a discovery walk around the city. The rest of the day is free to explore.

DAY 3 • Lisbon Discover Lisbon, Portgual’ s legendary capital, on a guided tour this morning. You’ ll experience the historic neighborhood of Belem, and round out your day at the Monument to the Discoveries. Meals: B, D | Hotel in Lisbon
DAY 4 • Transfer to Gaia • Aliança Underground Museum • Mealhada • Embark ship Drive to Gaia this morning, stopping for a tour of the wines and art exhibitions of the Aliança Underground Museum, and a discovery walk in Aveiro, where lunch is included. Arrive in Gaia this afternoon and embark your ship.

DAY 5 • Guimarães This morning, you’ ll sail to Porto Antigo, where you’ ll disembark and drive to the historic town of Guimarães, known as the“ cradle of Portugal” for being the birthplace of the country’ s first king. Next, visit the 10th-century Guimarães Castle and learn about the famous Battle of São Mamede, the catalyst for securing Portugal’ s independence.
