DAY 1 • Depart U. S. • Arrive Mexico City, Mexico Travel to Mexico City today and transfer to your hotel, where you’ ll be introduced to your Program Director and fellow travelers— including those arriving from their San Miguel de Allende & Querétaro, Mexico pre-trip extension— during a Welcome Briefing and orientation walk.

DAY 2 • National Museum of Anthropology • Explore Mexico City Visit Mexico City’ s National Museum of Anthropology this morning. Showcasing artifacts from all of Mexico’ s indigenous civilizations— including Aztec, Mixtec, Zapotec, and Maya— the museum is also home to the famed Aztec Calendar, a 12-foot, 25-ton, carved basalt stone slab, dating to the late 1400s. This afternoon, explore Mexico City’ s historic center( a UNESCO World Heritage Site), on an included walking tour. Begin your explorations in the zocalo— the main square around which the city is centered. You’ ll also visit Mexico City’ s Post Office, adorned with baroque columns and carved filigree around the windows, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes, or the museum of fine arts, from the outside.

DAY 3 • Mexico City • Teotihuacán Explore the ruins of Teotihuacán today, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the most important pre-Hispanic cities in all of Mexico. You’ ll ponder its mysteries during an included tour. After your tour, you’ ll enjoy an included lunch at a restaurant located near the ruins before returning to Mexico City, where the rest of the day is at leisure.

DAY 4 • Visit Zocalo • Boat ride in Xochimilco This morning, visit the magical floating world of Xochimilco, a rarified town Spanish conquistadors called“ the Venice of the New World,” now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin your explorations in the zocaló— the main square around which the city is centered. Enjoy a ride along the canals aboard a colorful, traditional boat before returning to our hotel in Mexico City.

DAY 5 • Mexico City • Transfer to Puebla • Visit Talavera Bid adios to Mexico City this morning as you begin your journey to Puebla. Upon arrival this afternoon, enjoy a

DAY 6 • Puebla Explore the city of Puebla this morning. Highlights include the baroque Capilla del Rosario, or Rosary Chapel bedecked in gold leaf from floor to ceiling; the Barrio del Artista, or Artists’ Quarter, a city block handed over to local artists in the mid-20th century as a place to practice their trade and sell their wares; and Calle de los Dulces, or Sweets Street, a three-block stretch of the city lined with dulcerias( candy shops).
