DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Fly to Madrid, Spain today.
DAY 2 • Madrid, Spain You’ ll be greeted at the airport by a Grand Circle representative who will assist in your transfer to the hotel. Here, you’ ll be joined by fellow travelers who took our optional pre-trip extension, Barcelona, Spain. Later on, gather to meet your Program Director and get to know your surroundings with an orientation walk.

DAY 3 • Madrid After breakfast, enjoy an included panoramic city tour, passing by the lavish Royal Palace, Almudena Cathedral, and the monument dedicated to Don Quixote in the Plaza de España. The remainder of the afternoon is yours. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 4 • Madrid • Optional El Escorial tour Join us on an optional tour of the imposing El Escorial, a 16th-century architectural masterpiece that served as both a royal residence and a monastery.

DAY 5 • Madrid • Toledo • Granada Ride to medieval Toledo, once known as the“ City of Three Cultures” for the harmonious coexistence of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities here. Enjoy an included walking tour of Spain’ s former capital, famed for its castles, monasteries, historical monuments, and eclectic building styles. After lunch on your own, depart for Granada, your next destination. Dinner is at your hotel tonight.

DAY 6 • Granada • The Alhambra After breakfast this morning, you’ ll explore the Alhambra, a palatial complex that is the pinnacle of Islamic design. Following your visit to this legendary monument, you’ ll enjoy a short walking tour of the city of Granada, with an included tapas lunch at a local restaurant. The rest of the day is free.

DAY 7 • Granada • Home-Hosted Lunch • Malaga • Torremolinos Depart after breakfast this morning for a tour of the local highlights of Malaga, including the Plaza de la Merced, where Picasso was born. Then, experience the hospitality of a Spanish family during a Home-Hosted Lunch. Arrive in Torremolinos this afternoon, where the rest of your day is at leisure.
