Let me introduce myself . I ’ m Shaylin Keefer an eighteen-year-old senior at Oakwood High School . My parents are Lacy and John Keefer . We have lived in Leon County our entire lives . My parents taught my sister and I the importance of being a hard worker both inside and outside of work and school . In addition , I work as a full-time cashier at my local gas station . My father must remind me regularly that I need to slow down because I tend to overload myself with school and work , but fortunately , I have my mother who keeps me grounded and focused . I ’ ve been conquering all A honor rolls and flawless attendance at Oakwood . I am the Valedictorian of the Oakwood graduating class of 2022 . I belong to several clubs , including FCA , FFA , Yearbook , and Beta Club , I am a staff writer for the Buffalo Express and a teacher ’ s aide at Oakwood High School . In fact , I also serve as the Editor in Chief as the school ’ s writer for the newspaper ! Claiming that in high school , where grades matter just as much as social development , writing articles helps me learn new things about both topics . As an extracurricular activity I participates in recycling and helping to keep my town clean because I feel like it is very important for people to know that the future generations will not have clean air or water unless proactive steps are taken now . After high school , I will attend Tyler Junior College to acquire an associate degree in Business Administration before transferring to the University of Texas at Tyler to pursue a bachelor ’ s degree in Business for Marketing . I ’ d like to work for a digital marketing agency once I graduate from college . I see my life spread out before me and I am excited about all the possibilities that it brings .

Makinley Warren
My name is Makinley Warren , and I am the daughter of Ray and Deede Warren . My parents have been a major part of my success and have always pushed me to do my best . Not only my hard work and determination , but also my parents love , and support helped me to become the Salutatorian of my graduating class . Over the past four years , I have been involved in National Honor Society , Beta Club , student council , Spanish club , softball , volleyball , track , a Junior Rotarian , and a dual credit student . I have also participated in UIL academics both my junior and senior year and qualified for regionals both years . After high school , I plan to attend Sam Houston State University in the Fall of 2022 . My desired major is pre-law , and while completing my law degree I intend to teach English to elementary students . I would like to thank all of you who have made any kind of impact in my life that has helped shape me into the young woman I am today . To my fellow classmates : it has been a great joy to see each of you grow up into the young adults that you are today . I also wish each of you nothing but success in your future .
