AROUND TOWN
Over the last few months, Jacksonville celebrated things new, traditional and historical – from the inaugural Senior Spotlight banquet conducted by the Jacksonville Economic Development Corporation and grand opening of Heaven’ s Stepping Stones Retreat( new) to events such as the Fred Douglass Volunteer Banquet, Cherokee County Junior Livestock Show and Flamin’ J BBQ Fest( traditional) and the Monte Verdi Descendants Legacy exhibit( historical). Residents also came together to show appreciation for first responders and clean up the waterway in Buckner Park.
