Nicholas Patel
Nicholas Patel is the Valedictorian for the graduating class of 2025 at Jacksonville High School. He is the son of Andy and Bina Patel. Nicholas plans to attend UT Austin, where he will major in Neuroscience. He is also on the waitlist for another university and may consider attending if accepted. After completing his undergraduate studies, Nicholas aims to attend medical school and pursue a residency in Neurosurgery, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Board Certified Neurosurgeon. Throughout his high school years, Nicholas has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities. He has participated in the STARS Program for three years, which allows students to shadow different areas of the hospital in Tyler, and he is currently applying for his fourth year. Nicholas has also competed in UIL Academics for the past four years. In addition to his academic pursuits, Nicholas has been involved in several student clubs and organizations, including HOSA, Student Council and the Multicultural Club for four years. He has also been a member of the Key Club for three years and the National Honor Society for two years. Nicholas has held a leadership role as the Secretary of the Multicultural Club. Nicholas would like to express his gratitude to his parents and sister for their continuous support throughout his journey. He also extends his thanks to his extended family for their unwavering support and to his friends and teachers who have helped him achieve the honor of Valedictorian.

Ksenia Alvarez
Ksenia Alvarez is the Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2025 at Jacksonville High School. She is the daughter of Erick and Svetlana Alvarez. Ksenia will be attending UT Tyler, where she plans to earn a Bachelor’ s Degree in Chemistry then the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Her career goal is to become a pharmacist or work in a healthcare-related field involving chemistry and lab work. Throughout her high school years, Ksenia has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities. She has been a dedicated member of the band for seven years and has taken piano lessons for three years. This year, she is participating in the Health Science Practicum as a pharmacist technician in-training. Ksenia has also been involved in several student clubs and organizations, including UIL, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, and HOSA. In addition to her academic achievements, Ksenia has demonstrated leadership skills as a Band Leader, where she helped teach marching and performance fundamentals to underclassmen. Outside of school, Ksenia is an active and life-long member of the St. John of Damascus Orthodox Church in Tyler, Texas. Ksenia would like to thank her family for providing her with emotional and financial security and for giving her a foundation in which she can flourish.
