Michael Martinez-Gutierrez

Addison Filer, daughter of Michelle and Daniel Filer, is the Valedictorian for the class of 2025 at Rusk High School. Throughout high school she has participated in varsity cheer, tennis, golf and has been an athletic trainer and baseball manager. She is the Historian of Beta club and has been a member of National Honor Society and Student Council, along with participating in academic UIL. Addison is attending the University of California San Diego in the fall to major in human biology in hopes of pursuing a degree in the medical field.

Michael Martinez-Gutierrez is the son of Alberto Martinez and Pat Martinez. Throughout high school, Michael has participated in Student Council, National Honor Society, UIL and Beta Club. As part of the public health track at Rusk, he earned certifications as a Certified Medical Assistant, EKG Tech, and Phlebotomist. In addition to his high school achievements, Michael will be graduating with his Associate’ s in General Studies from Tyler Junior College. This fall, he will attend the University of Texas at Austin where he will major in Government on a pre-med track. He plans to pursue medical school and become an anesthesiologist. With a strong commitment to public service, Michael also hopes to one day run for governor and continue making a meaningful impact in both healthcare and his community.
