WHAT TO DO BEFORE AND ON THE DAY | 9 What to Do before and on the Day Complete the online Invitation to Graduation promptly and before the deadline of Friday 7 June 2019 What to do before the day What to do on the day 1 Check your email address is correct on your eVision account – your Invitation to Graduation will have been sent in early April. 1 Leave home in plenty of time as it is a busy day and many people will arrive on campus at the same time – there can be as many as 500 people at one ceremony. You should be on campus at least two hours prior to the start of your ceremony. 2 Complete the online Invitation to Graduation promptly and before the deadline of Friday 7 June 2019. 3 Check all the details of your registration. Have you ordered the correct number of tickets? Has your name been spelled correctly? 4 Order your academic gown and hood. 5 If you and/or your guests have additional support needs please email [email protected] by Friday 7 June 2019 with the details. 6 If required, make travel and accommodation arrangements for your guests in good time. See page 26 for a list of local hotels. 2 Don’t leave home without: a printed copy of your graduation confirmation email, your academic dress confirmation and anything else you will need on the day. 3 On arrival, you should go straight to K2 in the Students’ Union to collect your ticket, tickets for your guests and academic gown and then move along to the Ballroom to have your official photographs taken. 4 Ensure that you give your guests their own tickets, as guests without tickets will not be allowed access to the Chapel or video link-up room. 5 You and your guests should arrive at the Chapel 30 minutes before your ceremony start time. The Ushers will guide you to your seat and the ceremony process. 6 Once the ceremony has ended, you and your guests are free to enjoy the University’s grounds, take photos, meet with friends, etc. Afternoon Tea will be served in Keele Hall and can be booked online. For more information, see page 15. 7 Graduation photography is available in the Ballroom at the Students’ Union, either before or after the ceremony. 8 Graduation merchandise is also available in the Students’ Union. 9 Before you leave, remember to return your academic dress to K2 in the Students’ Union; it will be open until 6pm each day.
