Whether students choose to pursue a baccalaureate degree or to enter the workforce after leaving DACC , helping them to fulfill their dreams is the number one priority of everyone connected to the College .

MISSION STATEMENT
Danville Area Community College is committed to providing quality , innovative , and accessible learning experiences that meet the lifelong academic , cultural , and economic needs of our diverse communities and the world we share .
Students who have a cumulative grade-point average of 4.000 graduated with the designation summa cum laude and wore a gold tassel , gold cord , and a medallion . There were six such graduates in the class of 2022 who represented their class during the ceremony . Delivering the Class Response was Colleen Wakeland , Westville , summa cum laude candidate who maintained a perfect GPA and earned an AAS in Health Information Technology , and two related certificates . The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Katherine ( Katie ) Thompson , Oakwood , summa cum laude candidate receiving an AA in Elementary Education . The Tassel Ceremony was led by Autumn Lange , Westville , who had earned more than a year ’ s worth of DACC credit through dual credit courses before she graduated high school , received an AA in Business Administration . She will be staying at DACC for another year while she works on a Bachelor ’ s degree through the Franklin University 3 + 1 Program . Class Marshals were Sarah Kedas , Salt Fork , receiving an AA in Business and Nyiana Morris Gaston , DHS , receiving an AAS in Medical Office Assistant and three certificates in related fields . Another class marshal was Andrew Barnes , a graduating senior at Danville High School . Andrew is the first Dual Graduate from DHS . He received an AAS in Applied Computer Science .
Graduates of distinction were recognized during the Commencement exercises . In addition to the summa cum laude candidates , those with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.750- 3.999 graduated with the designation magna cum laude and wore a gold tassel and a gold cord ; and those with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50-3.749 graduated with the designation cum laude and wore a gold tassel .
The College recognized three Franklin University graduates who completed Bachelor ’ s degrees through DACC ’ s 3 + 1 partnership with Franklin . Heather Johnson received a B . S . in Applied Psychology ; Andre Mandeldove received a B . S . in Business Administration ; and Star Williams received a B . S . in Business Administration / Management & Leadership . These three graduates previously completed an Associate degree at DACC and then took a third year of DACC courses that counted toward their Bachelor ’ s degree before completing that degree online through Franklin .
Honorary Degrees were bestowed upon two former DACC students , Clifford Dupree and W . John Shane , who weren ’ t able to complete a degree at DACC . Both were recognized for their past contributions by receiving

For those who are just beginning or are continuing the educational journey , DACC is currently registering for fall 2022 classes . For those who have reached their destination , Danville Area Community College is proud to present this commemorative folio in recognition of the achievements of the Class of 2022 .
