An avid investor and trader with a deep passion for the capital market, Mr Lai Kai Bin is currently the Head of Equity Crowdfunding at pitchIN, Malaysia’ s leading digital fundraising platform. In this role, he oversees the overall growth and operations of the equity crowdfunding division, helping innovative companies secure capital while expanding access to investment opportunities for the public.
With a career spanning venture capital, private equity, consulting, banking, and entrepreneurship, Mr Lai brings a well-rounded perspective to the evolving startup and investment landscape. Prior to joining pitchIN, he served as Investment Manager at Kairous Capital, where he conducted due diligence and financial modelling on Pre-A and Series A investments across Southeast Asia, particularly in the technology and high-growth sectors.
Earlier in his career, Mr Lai was a Private Equity and Principal Investors Consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising global private equity firms on due diligence, operational improvement, and value creation strategies. He also gained corporate banking experience at Deutsche Bank, managing multinational client relationships and executing regional initiatives.
Drawing from his entrepreneurial spirit and diverse industry experience, Mr Lai brings a unique blend of financial acumen, strategic insight, and hands-on business experience, inspiring graduates to embrace curiosity, resilience, and lifelong learning in their professional journeys.
Mr Lai holds a Bachelor of Business and Commerce( majoring in economics, banking, and finance) from Monash University Malaysia.
