program course , then the student will be dropped from the course and all future courses . Since this student does not have a University transcript , they are considered “ never enrolled ”. If a student is taking more than one course at a time and they are not out of overall program attendance , then only an administrative course withdrawal may be necessary .
If a student is absent for non-consecutive class sessions , then the student will earn a final grade from instructor based on the course policy .
Residencies Attendance Attendance for all days of scheduled residency is mandatory . See Program Handbook for more information .
Grade Appeals
Students who believe that their final course grade is not correct must follow the procedure described in the flow chart below , beginning with the first-level appeal to the instructor . The student is required to provide documentation supporting the appeal and to show that their work warranted the grade they seek . The appeal must include evidence that the faculty member did not follow grading or other policies in the course syllabus , as well as dates and summaries of all other meetings or attempted meetings with the instructor to resolve the concern .
All email communication must be conducted via the student ’ s , instructor ’ s , and administrator ’ s GMercyU account ; no personal email accounts should be used .
NOTE : If a student is concurrently appealing an academic integrity violation and the final grade for the same course , the grade complaint process will pause until the academic integrity violation appeal process is completed . Appeals must be submitted separately ; combined academic integrity violation and final grade appeals will not be considered . Students are encouraged to consult with their academic advisor , if they have questions about any appeal process .
First-Level Appeal
Student Appeals to Instructor ( within 7 calendar days from date of final grade posting in Self-Service )

Resolved : no further action .
Unresolved : Student may choose to move to 2 nd appeal
