Internship III ( CMH )
CNS 602 is the third course in a series of three internship experiences in the clinical mental health counseling concentration . Over the course of these three internship experiences , clinical mental health counselor trainees will progressively perform all the tasks and duties ascribed to clinical mental health counselors as prescribed by the American Counselor Association ( ACA ) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs ( CACREP ). These internship experiences are completed under the supervision of an experienced professional clinical mental health counselor and a university supervisor . For Clinical Mental Health students the Counseling Program and CACREP require a total of 600 internship hours to be completed . A total of 200 hours is to be completed in Internship I ( CNS 600 ), 200 hours in Internship II ( CNS 601 ), and 200 hours in Internship III ( CNS 602 ). This course ( CNS 602 ) requires 200 internship hours . Additionally this course requires direct and indirect service hours with a minimum of 80 hours being direct service hours . Clinical Mental Health counseling students are required to attend 1.5 hours of mandatory synchronous group supervision weekly .
