Time to Completion : The program is a full-time , 20 months , 72 credits prelicensure degree program . Students must be continuously enrolled .
Clinical : Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from off campus experiential learning opportunities .
Non-Academic Criteria for Admission , Progression and Retention : Compliance Requirements and Clearances : Required at the start of the program and annually .
NOTE : Urine drug screen must be completed as directed through Complio within 30 days of registration . Random drug screening may be required . A negative result is required .

Description : The DEMSN is the foundation to prepare a student holding a previous non-nursing Bachelor ’ s degree for entry-level practice as a registered nurse . The scope of practice includes direct and indirect care to individuals , families , and communities . This degree differs from the Baccalaureate degree in that the program not only prepares students to sit for state licensure but also adds additional graduate level content . The master ’ s degree can lead to many career advancement opportunities or to pursue a postmaster ' s certificate in many specialties . Once the student is accepted no courses may be taken outside of Gwynedd Mercy University .
