Nico Rosberg had an eventful British Grand Prix which ended in disappointment for the Mercedes driver as he was penalised by FIA stewards for receiving instructions from his engineer when things went awry with his car late in the race in which he crossed the finish line in second . But three hours later he was demoted to third thanks to the 10 second penalty , which means his lead at the top of the championship point standings is down to one . The German has to now dig deep to try regain the higher ground from his rampant teammate as they go toe-to-toe for the title in the second half of the season .
