CRAP DAY & CRAP RACE
L
osing on home soil is a bitter pill for
Nico Rosberg to swallow, considering
he started from pole position and was at
the wheel of one of the best cars on the grid
and yet finished fourth in the German Grand
Prix.
Adding to the pain is the fact that his
Mercedes teammate and title rival Lewis
Hamilton did not put a foot wrong all
afternoon and extended the championship
points lead in the process.
In a message to his fans on after the
race at Hockenheim, he wrote on Twitter
“Disappointed after German GP.”
“My little title sums it up, everything went
wrong – it was a really crap day, crap race.
Everything went wrong really. I can’t be
bothered to go into details now,” he declared.
“It was amazing all the support I got,
I’m really thankful for that – it was really
awesome and I’m really thankful for that. I’m
sorry I didn’t get to finish it in celebrations…
but anyways, next time.
“Happy holidays for those of you taking
some days off. I’m going to enjoy them for
sure, it’s going to be awesome – once I
recover from this day. It will take a while, but I
will get there.”
Hamilton has outscored Rosberg by 62
points since the their first lap collision at the
Spanish Grand Prix in May.
At that stage, Hamilton trailed his
Mercedes teammate by 43 points in the
standings. Since Spain, at which point
Rosberg had scored seven consecutive
victories, he has only scored a solitary win.
The hunted has now become the hunter.
