Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a perfect weekend at his favourite hunting
ground - Silverstone - powering to his fourth British Grand Prix victory,
the third in a row, in front of adoring fans who gave him the rock star
treatment as he crowd surfed atop the celebrating masses. It was his
day and together with his fans they passionately milked the occasion.
The real raec drama was behind the world champion as Nico Rosberg and
the precocious Max Verstappen slugged it out for most of the afternoon.
Although Rosberg crossed the line in second, he was later penalised
and thus the runner-up spot was gifted to Verstappen, who fans chose
as their Driver of the Day for his efforts.
As a result the championship is now down to a single point as the Silver
Arrows square up for the second half of the season, the stage set for an
epic contest between the two.
Alas for Ferrari it was a weekend to forget as both their drivers struggled
with a car which appears well out of sorts on fast circuits, but also appear
to be lagging in the development race. Red Bull were second in the
pecking order all weekend, ahead of Ferrari.
This is our eye-candy packed tribute to the 2016 British Grand Prix.
