ROSBERG TWO GOOD
2016.02
Nico Rosberg leaves Bahrain unbeaten so far this season and looking
stronger than he has ever been. Any successful F1 world championship
campaign can make use of a lashing of good luck, but right now it is unfair
to say that Rosberg has lucked his way to a victory streak that now spans
five grands prix. Rather his rivals are tripping over themselves embroiled
in their own misfortunes.
Rosberg’s teammate and arch rival for the title, Lewis Hamilton did himself
no favours with a dreadful start at Sakhir which dropped him into the pack
who devoured him. He did recover like the true champ that he is, but again
it was a case of damage limitation as Rosberg piled on the points.
Ferrari? Well they were Ferrari, promising so much before the race (even
before the season) but shooting themselves in the foot or is it luck that
eludes the Maranello outfit? Whatever the case, if there was a race to
win, Bahrain looked a good bet for the Reds. But alas the better half of
their firepower went up in smoke even before the race started, and the
other half nabbed a podium for a change.
Ferrari and Hamilton have to put a stop to Rosberg’s relentless success,
as he appears to have made the top step of the F1 podiums his own and
right now no one appears to have a plan to push him off it.
