Club News Young champs tee off in Junior State Golf Tour Gujarat Junior Golf Tour is run by parents and coaches, and supported by golf clubs T hirty young golfi ng champions teed off at the 2nd edition of Junior State Golf Tour, organized by the Gujarat Junior Golf Tour (GJGT) at Glade One Golf Club, October 19. GJGT is conducted at the state level and scorings would be recorded with its affi liate international partner Global Junior golf rankings. Master Tanmay Kumar, the youngest of all, emerged the winner in the Boys Pink Tee category with a score of 56. Aarya Goyal of Hyderabad was the winner in the Girls Pink Tee category with a score of 51. Krish Patel was the winner in the Boys Blue Tee category, while Agrima Manral was the winner in the Girls White Tee category. Shaan Amin was declared winner in the Boys Green Tee category. Miss MannatSangar was the winner in Girls Green Tee category. Ansh Jobanputra was the winner in the Boys Red Tee category and Maahika Adhikari emerged winner in Girls Red Tee category. Devvrat Rajawat won the Boys Yellow Tee category, while Pall Singhala was winner in the Girls Yellow Tee and Siya Malhotra Yellow Tees 9 Holes winner. “The winners and runners up will be invited by Flo Gas Ireland for participating in the World Invitational Champion of Champions to be played in Ireland in April,” Kaushal Shah of GJGT said. PGTI Pros inspire Junior Golfers in Chandigarh T he TATA Steel PGTI and the Chandigarh Golf Club jointly conducted a junior clinic at the Chandigarh Golf Club during the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational 2019 Presented by TAKE Solutions. The junior clinic featured four PGTI professionals, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Chiragh Kumar, Kunal Bhasin and Amritinder Singh. While Ajeetesh and Amritinder shared their expertise at the driving range, Chiragh Kumar and Kunal Bhasin guided the youngsters on the practice green. Insights from the HWIO C atriona Matthew of Scotland was seen along with junior golfers during a clinic at the Hero Women’s Indian Open. The Clinic took place at the DLF Golf & Country Club and the junior kids got a chance to interact with the Pro. Catriona Matthew from Scotland who is currently an active member of the LPGA & LET has had a successful junior and amateur career in her early years. Scottish Girls champion in 1986, Scottish Under-21 Stroke Play champion in 1988 and 1989 and the Scottish Amateur title are some of the very few achievements as a junior golfer.
