They have taught me values to live by, they have supported me and they encourage me to pursue my dreams while challenging myself to be the best that I can be. I would not be the person I am today without their love and guidance. Especially, my Mom is been a major inÀ uence in shaping my career. She travels with me for all my championships & tournaments taking care of me and cooking home food. She’s been my best friend as well my biggest critic right from the start. GPJ: When did you start playing Junior Golf Tournaments? KT: Playing in competitive golf tournaments can be one of the most fun, challenging and rewarding experiences of a young golfer’s life. It’s a chance to get the competitive juices À owing, compete against top players in your area, or the country, and sharpen your skills. I started my playing my Junior Golf tournaments at BPGC Mumbai at age 8. GPJ: Golf is a great character and discipline building game. How has golf helped you in the same? In golf tournaments honesty and integrity are important factors to be considered. Thus self-discipline is vital for a good gol¿ ng image. There are many other things like patience, perseverance, dedication etc. which de¿ nitely helps in character building. GPJ: Your advice to other Junior Golfers. KT: A golf tip I would give to youngsters is to stay calm, be patient and enjoy this sport. Enjoy playing, enjoy the walks between shots and keep doing your routine each and every time you play. Keep working hard and you will de¿ nitely see the results. GPJ: Fitness is really important. Tell us about your day-to-day Į tness regime. KT: Unlike earlier times, ¿ tness in Golf today is of utmost importance. It signi¿ cantly can help improve a players gol¿ ng performance. Proper nutrition is of equal importance. Proper nutrition and physical training can certainly help you achieve the desired results. My daily ¿ tness regime includes golf training for six- seven hours, two-three hours of cardio preparing, be it running or playing badminton or swimming. GPJ: Tell me something about your plans for the year 2018 KT: It is my dream to make India join the big league of premier gol¿ ng nations. The main vision is to win India its ¿ rst Olympic Gold for golf in the upcoming 2024 Olympics. Apart from my dream and vision, I will be participating in all competitive golf tournaments across the world.
