Travel he Pine is characterized by narrow fairways , which issue a sportful challenge , and it features a multitude of mature pine trees . The average golfer will feel more at ease on the Pine Course , which is considered to be slightly more player friendly . Six of the holes on the Pine Course have water in play , and the courses are very traditional , unlike the majority of the desert courses throughout the valley .
No . 15 , is the toughest hole on Pine , and it lies 470 yards from the back tees , requiring a drive that skirts a long winding lake that ’ s in play all the way down to the green . After landing safely on the fairway with a decent shot , you still need to hit almost 200 yards across water to hit the island green .
No . 6 , the second most difcult hole , is over 415 yards from the back tees . Making par requires a decent tee shot , followed by hitting over a lake for the second shot , all while avoiding trees on the right and a tricky sand trap to the right of the island green .
For average golfers , the men ’ s and women ’ s tees provide a particularly enjoyable golng experience . In contrast , the championship tees offer low handicappers an extremely competitive test .
Each summer , McCormick Ranch Golf Club has junior golf lessons that run for two week sessions .
