So you have to adjust
ball position and spine
angle (image 2) As
you can see from the
image, this photo is
more a normal trajectory
set-up. The next photo
(image 3) the ball is
more forward than
usual which promotes
catching the ball on the
upswing which increases
trajectory of ball fl ight.
The other part of this
adjustment is your spine
is angled more behind
the ball also helping
to improve the launch
angle of the tee shot.
To make this adjustment more effective you must ensure the head remains
behind the ball through impact and ensure your hands fi nish high in your
follow through. This will help in a higher ball fl ight and also keep the ball
more on your target line. (image 4)
Remember to keep your
grip soft at address and
swing the club through
the ball instead of trying
to “mash the ball off the
planet”. A golfer must
always be in control of
the club if they expect to
hit a target. A tense, tight
grip creates stress and
the golfer won’t be able
to “release” the club with
correct timing and rhythm,
resulting in a poor result.
Also it’s important to have
a well balanced fi nish.
