G
olf is an outdoor game at times you have to play in extreme conditions. Playing in
wind on a blustery day can be extremely diffi cult. When good shots turn bad and
bad shots turn worst, most golfers fi ght with the wind rather than work with it. If
you can play the ball low when the wind is high you have a huge advantage over others who
cannot keep the ball low in these extreme conditions.
PLAYING LOW
CHEATING THE WIND
Follow the following tips and except the challenge:
Select the club
according to the
strength of the wind
and choke down a
bit. Place the ball
back in your stance
couple of inches
closer to the right
toe and place your
hands a little ahead
of the club head, so
that your left arm
and club shaft are in
straight line.

Make a three quarter
connected back swing
with your arms and
shoulders with less hinge
of the wrist. It is important
that you avoid swinging
hard into the head wind to
compensate for the wind.
This will make things
worse. Swinging harder
will produce more back
spin on the ball resulting
in high sky shots which
land short of the target
every time. You need to
make a conscious eff ort to
swing the club smoothly.
This way you will
maximize your distance
and accuracy.
