According to Pertierra, A. C.
(2017), there’s a celebrity
factor in the culture of
politics, the person campaigning
has to have that attitude where
he or she should be known to all
to gain supporters or even that
uniqueness or newness that’ll
shock the people. She also
mentioned on her blog that “This
formula has been successful in
the Philippines since at least
the 1960s when Ferdinand Marcos
and his glamorous wife Imelda
rose to power using film-star
looks and flashy performances to
generate popular appeal.” The
appeal of the politician to the
people is a great deal for them
to gain the vote and trust of the
people even if those people
weren’t really an actor or from
showbiz, but because they are
famous for what they do and how
they appear in public then it’s a
success for them as long as the
people vote for them.
