The Jack in the Box by George Penfold
CRASH!!! Lighting covers the sky as the rain hammers down on the street called williams street. Jack runs to a old family abandoned house covered in vines and bushes, as he walks over to the door he gets a shiver down his spine.
Creek, Creek, Creek every floorboard went, the hallway was huge, a broken chandelier hung above jack slowly swaying back and forwards. a noise came from upstairs, jack pulls out his flashlight as he is scared of the dark. the stairs looked unsave, floorboards broken and half of it had collapsed but he managed to make it up.
The landing was covered in nature rats and bats scattered across the room, but suddenly a door opened a big dark oak door, light shone in, jack went in to investigate lighting struck the slammed shut behind him, he could not open it. The room was empty, windows let the cold air in making jack more nervous, the ripped purple curtains waved across the room like a cold ocean.
Whispers went around the room getting louder and louder even more freaked out with his hands over his ears not letting anyone in, they stopped. jack went straight to the door it opened, scared but intrigued went into another room.
lighting struck the door shut behind him it would not open, this room was exactly the same, but wait, there was a picture of a lady and wardrobe.
The painting looked old, dusty and dirty with an old antique frame, the lady she was gone it was just a picture of a chair with anot saying.“ You should not have come here”. Jack took no notice and went to the wardrobe and opened the two doors nothing here except from a jack in the box, jack picked it up blew the dust of the top and let out a big cough. he sat under the windowsill with the jack in the box in front, he started turning the the handle a little song played with a thew missing notes the lid slowly opened and a clown appeared with a really big knife.
Blood splattered on the window covering it in red, a scream shuck the house, the jack in the box lid slowly shut playing a little tune ….
