My wife and I love caravanning in the cold of winter . We love rugging up and walking on the beach , watching the pounding waves and , on occasion , enjoying a sunny day and some great walking and exploring .
This year , our winter trip was to Barwon Heads , Vic . Barwon Heads has one of the best caravan parks in Australia , with plenty of waterfront sites , and I mean waterfront !
The other great thing about winter is that prices are much cheaper and often there are additional incentives just to get people in ( pay for three nights , get four , etc .).
In addition , the entire caravan park had only a handful of visitors and we had the entire waterfront to ourselves as per the photos and video .
However , caravanning in the winter means cold nights and you therefore need to prepare . In our case , we have several forms of heating . Watch the video for some of our tips on how to deal with the cold and ensure a perfect winter experience .
