A CAPITAL IDEA The Australian Caravan Club (ACC) has launched its first branch for RVers in the Canberra region, the Capital Country Nomads. “The branch was formed with a good start of 24 members, which is a great foundation,” ACC chairman Craig Humphrey said. “The ACC is one of the largest RV Clubs in Australia. Our Australia- wide membership is currently around 4500 and growing.” YOU’RE IN CHARGE In this day and age, it seems we are always searching for an outlet to charge our phones and tablets. And Camec has answered the call with a range of double pole 240V RV powerpoints that also include dual USB charging points. The 240V outlets are of the standard 10A switched variety, but because the USB ports are connected to the RV’s 12V system, you can still put power back into your device’s battery regardless of whether you’re free camping in the bush or onsite in a caravan park. 34 gorv.com.au Each 5V USB port has a maximum charging capacity of 1.6A, with a white or silver facia available. A blue LED indicates when the device is charging. Installing these powerpoints, however, is not a job for an enthusiastic DIY-er. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
