DIY REVERSING CAMERA !
Hitching a caravan can be difficult without a reversing camera . In my case , I have a Land Cruiser and the camera installed by the factory is offset – useless when attempting to align my DO35 hitch , or any other hitch for that matter .
I decided I needed a camera that had a central top view so that my wife or I could easily align the tow hitch without needing third-party assistance . After a little research , I found a simple wi-fi camera on eBay for $ 14 and for the mounting bracket I decided I would use a magnetic torch to hold the camera and attach to the rear of the car via the torch ’ s integrated magnet .
The camera comes with a phone app for either iPhone or Android , and once turned on I have a full 1080P high resolution view of my towbar and hitch from within the car .
This modification made an amazing difference as it makes hitching much easier . I have included several photos and a video link explain this simple DIY project and how it works .
