SMOOTH GREY WATER DRAINAGE
I was sick of having to lift my grey waste hose to drain it out due to most drainage pits being positioned higher than the surrounding ground ( which prevents storm water flowing into them ).
First , I cut my pipe to two-thirds its length to shorten the distance to the drain . In some cases , I could also use the remaining one-third length if the pit was closer than usual . If it was a long way , I used a joiner purchased from Bunnings ( see on the downstream end in the pic ) to join the two pieces back to the original length .
I still needed to pick-up the hose in most cases so I added a length of PVC pipe for the hose to pass through . This allowed for a slight drop to the back of the van so that its journey to the pit starts higher , so no more low spots and no more lifting the hose to drain it .
