5RELAXING IN COWES

Cowes is the unofficial ‘ capital ’ of Phillip Island . Located on the northern edge of the island , facing Westernport Bay , it is filled with restaurants , cafes , supermarkets and more – there are more than enough facilities here to keep you going .
The foreshore is a highlight . A large , grassy embankment – a perfect spot for a picnic on a summer ’ s day – leads to soft sand and calm water .
There are a number of holiday parks within walking distance of Cowes ’ main street , too . What better way to start the day than to take a stroll to a cafe for breakfast ?
Be warned , though : in peak holiday periods , it gets very busy , and finding a seat in a restaurant can be a challenge . If you can , time your visit just outside of peak times .
Churchill Island .
YOU WON ’ T REGRET IT !
Of course , there are plenty of other reasons to visit the island . There ’ s mini golf , a chocolate factory , and let ’ s not forget that Phillip Island is also home to the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix .
Its proximity to Melbourne makes Phillip Island the perfect getaway , whether just for a night or a weeklong adventure . Go there – you won ’ t regret it .
