It ’ s not called the OK Ocean Road and for good reason ! This 243km stretch of coastline between Torquay and Allansford in Victoria ’ s south-west is one of the world ’ s most spectacular scenic coastal drives and is truly ‘ great ’ in every sense of the word !
We commenced our journey in Peterborough on the western end close to Warrnambool , and meandered our way east towards Torquay over the next five days .
1 . THE TWELVE APOSTLES
No road trip along the Great Ocean Road is complete without a visit to the iconic Twelve Apostles , situated within Port Campbell National Park . The massive limestone formations tower 45m above the roaring Southern Ocean and are an incredible sight to see no matter what the weather throws at you . Don ’ t miss visiting the Loch Ard Gorge , London Bridge , The Arch and the Grotto , for more spectacular natural wonders !
